Lighthouse of Trégastel
In a Breton house facing the sea,
a 5.50-meter-high library-fireplace rises like an interior lighthouse.
Each hand-turned segment gives access to books
all around its circumference.
Hammered glass blocks with backlighting punctuate the structure,
casting a soft glow.
The brass bands are powered with 24 volts
through a central spindle that maintains the current during rotation.
A central-stringer oak staircase spirals around this column
of fire, knowledge and presence.
